Fancy Reverse-A-Bowl Spindle Bowl FR03 Bubinga/ Honduras Rosewood/ Padauk/ Lignum
Gary came up with this design for a reversible bowl that sits just as stable on your lap as on a table. It is also a beautiful example of form meets function.
Each piece is hand turned, sanded, buffed and polished to make it nice and smooth. They have what Gary calls "feel appeal". The actual bowl used for spinning on each side is made from Lignum Vitae. Lignum is one of the hardest woods in the world, therefore reducing friction between spindle and bowl for expanded spinning times and an extended wear factor. Even though the spinning bowl is small, it should accommodate any support spindle.
The body of this bowl is made of Bubinga. The design is comprised of Honduras Rosewood and Padauk and the Lignum Vitae bowl as the centers on both sides. Each side having a unique design of it's own even though its the same pieces of wood.
The bowl weighs 2.8 ounces. It is 2 3/4" at the widest and 3" tall.
It comes in a decorative pouch.
